Joel Nelson, CFP® has been helping investors for over 14 years. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who brings practical business experience to every decision and client interaction. He spent an additional 10 years in the corporate world manufacturing and selling pharmaceutical and agricultural products. He has seven years experience in production agriculture. Joel earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Minnesota, with a minor in Business Administration.
Joel is Crystal’s husband and Wyatt and Jordan’s Dad. He has been coach of 500 plus youth football, baseball and basketball games from t-ball through American Legion Baseball. Coach Nelson is dedicated to mentoring young men who aspire to great things.
He is also proud to be the sixth generation heir of Swedish/Norwegian immigrants. Lover of fast skis, big trout, remote places, full sail, pheasant dogs, cow horses, deep water, open prairies, sandy beaches, rocky shores, blue skies, stormy seas, quarter sawn oak, the Good Book, old story tellers, thick steaks, fresh fish and lutfisk.

Christopher Wheeler began his career with Nelson Financial in October 2017. Any form that is completed on your behalf and every sheet of paper you sign goes through his hands. If we need information updated, he is the one to track it down. Christopher handles all the incoming calls and provides personal service to all our clients.
Christopher grew up in the mountains of Washington State and lived there until he joined the United States Marine Corps in 2007. He served four years as an Embarkation/Logistics Specialist. In 2011, Christopher was honorably discharged from the Marines and moved to Colorado, where he met his wife. Christopher has been Melanie’s husband since 2014. Melanie is a 3rd and 4th grade Language Arts teacher at Holyoke Elementary School.
In his off time, Christopher and Melanie enjoy plaing music, backpacking in the mountains, and watching bad horror movies.
